2025 Year in Review

Stanford Lifestyle Medicine (SLM) had a successful year in 2025! Our team of researchers, educators, medical professionals, science communicators, and other lifestyle medicine experts has grown. In 2025, we produced eight newsletters and four webinars covering significant lifestyle medicine topics. We also offered seven educational programs and participated in three large-scale community events to share the important work of our team. With consistent high-quality content and programming, SLM has established itself as a trusted resource for health, wellness, and longevity.

This year also marked an exciting new chapter for SLM as we found a new home with the Stanford Prevention Research Center (SPRC). With tremendous gratitude, we acknowledge SPRC’s invaluable support and sponsorship, which has further empowered our mission and broadened our reach. Partnering with SPRC has enabled us to strengthen our foundation and expand our impact within the Stanford community and beyond. In addition, we forged meaningful new partnerships in 2025, connecting with organizations and allies who share our commitment to advancing lifestyle medicine. Together, these developments have positioned SLM to innovate, collaborate, and continue improving lives through evidence-based wellness strategies.

Newsletters

In 2025, SLM published 39 research-backed articles within eight newsletters offering practical tips to help our readers meet their health-and-wellness goals across the seven pillars of lifestyle medicine.

Partnerships

Teen Lifestyle Medicine

Teen Lifestyle Medicine (TLM) is a national organization founded and led by teens, with guidance from Stanford Lifestyle Medicine and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM). TLM’s primary focus is to help fellow students who are passionate about lifestyle medicine deepen their leadership skills, utilize teamwork and collaboration, and bring knowledge and awareness to their broader communities by establishing and running lifestyle medicine clubs in their high schools.

Healthy Morgan Hill

In August, SLM facilitated a partnership between TLM and Healthy Morgan Hill, an organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of residents in Santa Clara County. On September 26, SLM and TLM co-hosted a “Future Health Leaders” webinar with Healthy Morgan Hill to intentionally empower more than 150 students from low-income, under-resourced, minority, and migrant backgrounds to start lifestyle medicine clubs and programs. This early-stage partnership will serve as the catalyst for student-led community programs in the Bay Area, bringing lifestyle medicine education directly to teens and families. By combining medical expertise with student voice, SLM and TLM are creating a scalable, peer-led model that addresses urgent health disparities while equipping the next generation with lifelong skills for well-being.

Events

Healthy Aging 2025: Mind and Body Conference

SLM and the Longevity Project co-hosted the “Healthy Aging 2025: Mind and Body” conference on May 5, with Deepak Chopra and Chip Conley serving as keynote speakers. With expertise ranging from nutrition to joint mobility to meditation, panelists offered research-backed guidance on lifestyle medicine and longevity. Nearly 850 participants attended the conference in person at Stanford and online.

Community Events

On May 17, SLM participated in Health Matters, which featured a range of health-and-wellness programs at Stanford. SLM team members had a strong showing at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) conference November 16-19.
