Lifestyle Medicine High School Summer Program (for juniors and seniors)

Eligibility

Rising high school juniors and seniors interested in a healthcare or wellness-related field are eligible to apply.

This program is offered every summer. For the summer of 2026, it will run:

Science Communication in Lifestyle Medicine Internship (for undergraduates from all universities) 

The Lifestyle Medicine Writing Internship is open to undergraduate students interested in scientific communication and health promotion. This internship provides an introduction to the scientific method, the concept of evidence-based medicine, tools to critically appraise scientific literature, and skills to communicate research to the public effectively. Under the guidance of a member of the Stanford Lifestyle Medicine team, students will select a published research paper on a lifestyle medicine topic, critically analyze it, and develop public dissemination materials summarizing the findings, strengths, and limitations of the research.

Eligibility

Undergraduate students from all universities who are interested in scientific writing are eligible to apply.

Timeline

This internship is offered year-round, with a flexible 16-week duration and biweekly meetings conducted via Zoom.
